We thought magic was our gift to use how we willed, even when we started to understand the cost. Where once the Hollows and places of the kingdom stood bright and green, they now lie desolate and barren. Slowly, spell by spell, we drained the Hollows of their lifeforce to fuel our magic. Even when it became clear to everyone what was happening, magic was too big a part of our society to stop. We had warnings. We could have chosen differently. But now the old Hollows serve mostly as treasure-hunting grounds for sorcerers trying to earn their way through the withered earth by uncovering Talismans.
They Are Hollows of Desolation is a collaborative worldbuilding and treasure hunting game for 1 GM and 1 or more players. Players play as sorcerers trying to plunder an ecologically collapsing area for treasure. Whenever they use magic, they draw more power out of the earth, increasing its collapse.
This game is a Rooted in Trophy game, based on Trophy Gold.

Gordie continues to make some of the most beautiful spreads in the game. Each game is like a miniature artbook packed with stuff that you can't tell if it's original, repurposed, or what. This game, like the others, has its own vibe, voice, and style but yet still reads like a Gordie game.
